Advertising Design is the visual development of ideas through the relevant use of copy, art and space.
Successful advertising sometimes shocks, sometimes cajoles, and sometimes just plain makes a statement. Advertising provides information on products, services and ideas through a wide variety of media, including packaging, brochures, direct mail, magazines, newspapers, displays, corporate identity packages, multimedia, web page design, television and more. But no matter what its tone or medium, successful advertising always communicates a single idea.
Although every industry does some form of advertising, most graduates work either in-house or freelance designing for corporations, publishers, printers, retail stores, design studios and ad agencies. They hold positions such as Graphic/ Digital Designer, Layout Artist, Pre-Press Production Artist, Web Page Designer, Assistant Art Director, Art Director, Typography Designer, Storyboard Artist, Exhibit Designer and Packaging Designer.
