Hussian School of Art conducts a summer art workshop which provides an opportunity for high school students or someone considering a career change to explore Graphic Arts in a professional art school program. The workshops are conducted by Hussian faculty and graduates who are practicing professional artists. Classes include Advertising Design, Drawing, Illustration, and Fantasy Illustration and would be beneficial to individuals who wish to increase their art background and/or develop a portfolio. Advertising Design - An introduction to the Advertising field. This course will provide hands-on experience developing design concepts from thumbnails through preparing preliminary layouts.
Illustration - An introduction to various types of illustration markets including Editorial and Children's Book. Students will develop preliminary sketches used inclient presentations for agencies and publishers. Traditional and computer illustration approaches are discussed.
Fantasy Illustration - This course will explore the creation of fantasy heros, monsters, aleins from outer space, warriors and weapons as well as learning how to research science fiction characters to makethtem believeable. Students will creat their own mythological creatures and review monsters of the past.
Drawing - This studio workshop will approach drawing using light, shade and form with both still-life and figure drawing. Drawing is not limited to fine art but is also vital to illustration and design backgrounds and carry very important client expectations.
